Summary of Keeping Learning Real, Relevant, and Relatable

According to the article published by edutopia.org, the students nowadays are reading all day long text messages on their phones, emailed directions about homework, apps from advertisers. They read what interests them and what helps make their world a more real, relevant, and relatable place to live. And we can tap into their interests to embed speaking, listening, reading, and writing in classes to help achieve content objectives. So we should keep the lesson and the strategy to learn real, relevant, and relatable. Keep it real so students will have opportunity to learn about where they live by researching how culture, religion, and traditions have shaped their community and perhaps their lives as well. Keep it relevant. Keep ir relevant so the students will be able to make connections to the lesson . Lastly, keep it relatable for the students taking ownership of their learning.

Reaction/reflection
As a future social studies teacher, the article entitled Keeping Learning Real, Relevant, and Relatable By Peg Grafwallner will help me to plan my lesson to be more creative. Keep it real why not we letthem study the place they live by researching how culture, religion, and traditions being practiced. Besides this are part of the lesson in history or social studies. Keep it relevant as a social studies major I need to be updated. So  I should share something to my students while planning how to implement my lesson. And the students will think about the connection of the topict to them. Thus, the the topic will be relatable for the students through the strategies the teaching and learning process will be much easier.

Reflection

I am very thankful and proud of my students, because they are doing great in my class. It can be seen in their outputs below. For a teacher, to see their students cooperative and learning is priceless. Above all is to see that they are willing to learn from me, even most of the time they are complaining about the task that I am giving to them they are still trying their best to make. I will always remember them for giving me such a wonderful experience as their student teacher and also a friend that is always there for them.
